The Audience About James Stuart Blackton Revolutionized...
  Brendan Cain  COM11400  Ms. Carlo   Speech #1 Outline  Specific Purpose: To inform my audience about James Stuart Blackton revolutionized the film industry.  Thesis Statement: Blacktonââ¬â¢s first stop motion film revolutionized the film industry by helping grow the movie industry and inspiring new types of movies and services.  Introduction:  I.	Attention-Getter: Blackton interviewed Thomas Edison in 1895; this created an interest in film for Blackton. A year later Blackton and his partner Albert E. Smith created their own film company called Vitagraph. A year after Vitagraph was formed they produced their first movie.  Today the movie industry is a multi-billion dollar industry in the U.S. and globally. The Motion Picture Association of America reported that in 2013 globally that $35.9 billion was made in ticket sales.  II.	Credibility Statement: Iââ¬â¢ve researched James Stuart Blackton and the movie industry over the past two weeks and have gained significant information from credible sources.   III.	Relating to the Audience: I can guess almost everyone, if not everyone has seen a movie once in his or her life. We grew up as children watching movies to laugh and learn life lessons from.  IV.
